1) Scope; Who is covered
This Limited Warranty (“Warranty”) applies to eligible devices purchased directly from Smart Home USA or our authorized channels and used by the original end-user purchaser (“you,” “Consumer”) for normal, intended purposes. It provides rights in addition to any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable law. It does not apply to resale purchases without proof of original purchase.
2) Warranty periods
Warranty periods begin on the purchase date shown on your proof of purchase.
2 to 3 years: Standard device families listed on the product page as carrying a 2 to 3-year limited warranty, depending on the product
5 years: Professional/“Pro” device families listed on the product page as carrying a 5-year limited warranty.
If a product page specifies a different term, that posted term controls. Accessories and consumables (for example, external batteries, tapes, adhesives) may have shorter or no warranty as stated on the product page.
3) What this Warranty covers
During the applicable warranty period, we warrant that the hardware will be free from defects in materials and workmanship and that any included device firmware will substantially conform to published features when properly installed and updated. Remedies are described in Section 5.
4) What this Warranty does not cover (exclusions)
This Warranty does not cover, and we may reject claims for:
Normal wear, cosmetic damage, or consumables subject to expected depletion.
Damage or issues resulting from misuse, improper installation, wiring outside specifications, overload, exposure to unsuitable environments, pests, liquids, contaminants, power surges, lightning, or other external causes.
Modification, repair, or opening by anyone other than us or an authorized service partner; use of non-approved firmware or attempts to alter firmware.
Failure to install available safety or security firmware updates within a reasonable time after we or the manufacturer make them available.
Network, router, or internet issues, or lack of compatible equipment.
Mismatched or altered serial numbers, or missing proof of purchase.
Issues resolvable through standard support steps (for example, configuration, re-pairing, or official software updates) when the Consumer refuses to complete those steps.
5) Remedies (repair, replacement, or store credit)
If a valid claim is received within the warranty period, we will, at our option and to the extent permitted by law:
repair the product (including remote diagnostics or configuration assistance), or
replace it with a new or refurbished unit of equal or better function, or
provide store credit or refund up to the original purchase price if repair or replacement is not commercially reasonable.
Repaired or replacement items are warranted for the longer of the remainder of the original warranty period or 90 days. We may use functionally equivalent models if the original is unavailable.
6) How to obtain warranty service (RMA process)
Start a claim: email sales@smarthomeusa.tech with your order number, serial number, a description of the issue, and photos/video if applicable.
Support steps: we may request logs, screenshots, remote diagnostics, or firmware updates to confirm the defect.
Return authorization: if return is required, we will provide RMA instructions and a return address. Items returned without authorization may be refused.
Shipping: if the claim is approved as a manufacturing defect within 30 days of delivery, we cover return shipping within the U.S. After 30 days, you are responsible for return shipping unless local law requires otherwise. Use a trackable, insured method. Title and risk of loss remain with you until delivery to us.
7) Firmware and updates
Security and functionality updates may be required to maintain conformity. We provide, or the manufacturer provides, such updates at no charge during the warranty period. Failure to install available updates within a reasonable time can result in denial of coverage for issues that the update would have prevented.
8) Limitations of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by Texas and U.S. law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages; loss of data; loss of profits; or costs of substitute goods arising from or related to the product or this Warranty. Our total aggregate liability for any claim will not exceed the amount you paid for the product that gave rise to the claim. Some states do not allow limitations or exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so the above may not apply to you.
9) Disclaimer of implied warranties; consumer rights
Except where prohibited by law, any implied warranties (including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose) are limited to the duration of the express warranty period. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so the above limitation may not apply to you. This Warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other rights which vary by state.
10) No effect on statutory rights; third-party manufacturer warranties
Nothing in this Warranty affects any non-waivable statutory rights. Where a manufacturer provides its own warranty, we will assist you in accessing that manufacturer warranty as applicable. If a remedy is available directly from the manufacturer that results in faster service, we may direct you there for your convenience.
11) Transferability
This Warranty applies only to the original end-user purchaser and is not transferable unless required by applicable law.
12) Force majeure
We are not responsible for delays or failure to meet our obligations due to events beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, labor disputes, supply shortages, or internet outages.
13) Governing law; venue
This Warranty is governed by the laws of the State of Texas and applicable federal law. Exclusive venue and jurisdiction lie in the state or federal courts located in Walker County, Texas.
