This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you visit, use, make a purchase, or otherwise communicate with us through the Services. If any conflict exists between this Privacy Policy and our Terms of Service regarding personal information, this Privacy Policy controls.

By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge you have read and understand this Privacy Policy.

  • Usage info: how you interact with and navigate the Services, timestamps, referring pages.

Personal Information Sources

We collect personal information:

  • Directly from you when you create an account, make a purchase, contact us, or otherwise use the Services.

  • Automatically via cookies, pixels, and similar technologies when you browse or use the Services.

  • From service providers we engage to operate the store, process payments, ship orders, provide analytics, security, and support.

  • From partners or other third parties, including advertising and analytics providers.

How We Use Your Personal Information

  • Provide, tailor, and improve the Services: process payments and orders, fulfill and ship, manage returns/exchanges, maintain your account, remember preferences, recommend products, and enhance functionality and performance.

  • Marketing and advertising: send promotional emails/SMS/postal mail where permitted, and show ads on our site or others based on your activity.

  • Security and fraud prevention: authenticate users, detect and investigate suspicious or malicious activity, protect our rights and users, and secure our systems.

  • Communicate with you: provide support, order updates, and other transactional notices.

  • Legal compliance: meet tax, accounting, and regulatory obligations; enforce our terms and policies.

How We Disclose Personal Information

We may disclose personal information:

  • To Shopify, vendors, and other service providers acting on our behalf for commerce platform hosting, payment processing, fraud screening, data storage, analytics, fulfillment, shipping, marketing tools, and customer support.

  • To business and marketing partners for measurement and targeted advertising (subject to your choices below). Partners use information per their own notices.

  • At your direction or with your consent, including shipping carriers, social login/widgets, or when you request we share data.

  • Within our corporate group or in business transfers such as mergers or reorganizations.

  • For legal and safety reasons, including to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, enforce terms, and protect rights, property, and safety.

We do not sell personal information for money. Some state laws treat certain ads/analytics disclosures as a “sale” or “share.” See Your Rights and Choices to opt out.

Relationship With Shopify

The Services are hosted by Shopify. Shopify collects and processes personal information about your interactions with our store and across merchants to provide, secure, and improve the platform, including enhanced features that support personalized experiences and advertising. For those platform-driven activities, Shopify is responsible for that processing and for responding to related privacy rights requests. To learn more about Shopify’s practices and your rights, visit the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy and Shopify’s Privacy Portal. Where applicable, you may exercise Shopify-related rights through that portal.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies, pixels, and similar tools to:

  • Enable core functionality (cart, checkout, account).

  • Perform analytics to understand usage and improve the Services.

  • Deliver and measure advertising on our site and others.

  • Remember your preferences.

Browser settings may limit some cookies; essential cookies are necessary for the site to function. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat it as an opt-out of “sale/share” where required.

Security

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the data we handle. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure. Please keep your account credentials confidential and notify us if you suspect unauthorized use.

Data Retention

We retain personal information as needed to operate the Services and for legitimate business or legal purposes, including:

  • Orders and tax records: typically up to 7 years;

  • Warranty and safety records: for the warranty period plus a reasonable period;

  • Marketing preferences: until you unsubscribe or request deletion.
When no longer needed, we delete or de-identify information.

Children’s Data

The Services are not intended for children under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn we have done so, we will delete it. As of the effective date, we do not have actual knowledge that we “sell” or “share” personal information of individuals under 16.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights (subject to limits and exceptions):

  • Access/Know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we hold about you.

  • Delete personal information.

  • Correct inaccurate personal information.

  • Portability of certain information.

  • Opt out of “sale/share” and targeted advertising. You can exercise this via our footer link (e.g., “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”) or by emailing us. We honor GPC signals where required.

  • Manage communications: use the Unsubscribe link in marketing emails; reply STOP to SMS. We may still send transactional messages.

How to exercise: use the available tools on the Services or email sales@smarthomeusa.tech with “Privacy Request” in the subject and describe your request. We may need to verify your identity. Where allowed, you may designate an authorized agent, subject to verification. We will not discriminate against you for exercising rights.

Texas notice (TDPSA): Texas residents can exercise the above rights using the same process. If we deny a request where permitted by law, you may appeal by replying “Appeal” to our decision; we will review and respond within the required timeframe.

International Transfers

We may transfer, store, and process your information outside your country, including in the United States. For EEA/UK transfers, where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses or equivalent mechanisms.

State and Regional Disclosures

  • California (CCPA/CPRA): In the past 12 months we collected identifiers, commercial data, internet activity, geolocation approximations, and inferences. We disclosed these to service providers and, for ads/analytics, to third parties. We do not have actual knowledge of “sale/share” involving consumers under 16. Submit CCPA requests as described above.

  • EEA/UK visitors: Legal bases include contract (order fulfillment), legitimate interests (security, improvement, basic marketing), consent (where required for cookies/marketing), and legal obligation (tax/accounting). To exercise EU/UK rights (access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection), contact sales@smarthomeusa.tech. You may lodge a complaint with your local authority.

Third-Party Sites and Links

The Services may link to third-party sites or services. Their practices are governed by their own terms and policies. Information you post on public or third-party platforms may be visible to others.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised policy with a new “Last updated” date and provide additional notice where required.
